High Myopia
High myopia describes extreme short-sightedness. People with high myopia tend to have longer eyes, this means that the eye focuses light in front of the retina instead of on it. This causes blurred vision if not corrected. High myopia means that the structures inside the eye are stretched, increasing the risk of retinal detachment and glaucoma.
