Marfan’s syndrome

Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder affecting connective tissue in the body. Connective tissue is vital to maintain the structure of the body, supporting internal organs and other tissues. In the eyes, this can cause the lens, which focuses light in the eye to help us see clearly, to move out of place (sublux). It also means that the retina can detach from it’s supporting tissue at the back of the eye, which risks vision loss.
